When Sadness Beckons
Sadness made her lungs feel like they were collapsing. She’d heave through heavy tears, constantly waiting for her very last breath to embrace her.
Sadness made her stomach feel like it was knotting into tangles of wasted stars and burned up dreams.
Sadness made her heart feel like it was always divorcing itself, one half from the other.
But whenever sadness beckoned, she’d let it right back in.
Because when loneliness ticked away the unforgiving clock, sadness was her only friend.
